Southwestern Handles Mt. Mercy JV

Southwestern had to overcome cold shooting on the road to pull out a 79-72 win over Mt. Mercy JV. Southwestern jumped out to an early 12-6 lead, but fell ice cold from the field. They would find themselves down 38-28 at the half.

The Spartans used pressure defense to pull themselves back into the game. They would take a 46-44 lead and would not relinquish it the rest of the way. SWCC had tremendous balance in scoring with 5 guys scoring in double figures. The win improves the Spartans record to 9-4.

They head back into regional play at Ellsworth on Wednesday.
