About the Instructors

The Business/Computer Science Department has the largest number of majors at Southwestern. Students are enrolled in one of the following areas:

ARTS & SCIENCES TRANSFER PROGRAM
Southwestern's Arts & Science Transfer Program is for students interested in receiving a four-year degree. Students will enroll in core courses for their first two years while at Southwestern.

TWO-YEAR CAREER OPTION PROGRAMS
Some students are not interested in a four-year degree program. For these students another alternative is available. The programs outlined below are designed to prepare people for work after two years of study. Credits earned in these programs may be transferred at a later time should a person desire to continue his/her education. An Associate of Science Degree is awarded.

VOCATIONAL/TECHNICAL PROGRAMS
Southwestern offers practical instruction through hands-on experience and classroom instruction. Our Vocational-Technical courses offer the chance to develop skills to take the student directly into the work environment. Our instructors are trained and experienced in their fields of expertise.

STUDENT CLUBS
Chartered clubs and organizations which meet the mutual interests and needs of the students are actively supported at Southwestern. Three business organizations are available for the students at Southwestern.
Ag Business Club
Business Professionals of America
Students In Free Enterprise

HIGH SCHOOL BUSINESS CONTEST DAY
Since 1980 the Business/Computer Science Department has held the Southwestern High School Business Contest Day. This gives high school business students an opportunity to display their skills and compete with others in 16 different business areas. Award certificates are presented.
