Virus Protection / Security
AVG offers free virus, spyware, and rootkit scanning applications for home users.
A hosts file can be installed on your computer to help control annoying banner ads and pop-ups. It can also be used to prohibit your computer from accessing dangerous websites. (The information on this page is technical and targeted at advanced computer users)
Here you will find a list of the current hoax viruses. Next time you receive an urgent virus warning message, check it against the list of known virus hoaxes.
Trend Micro HouseCall is free online tool for checking whether your computer has been infected by viruses, spyware, or other malware. HouseCall performs additional security checks to identify and fix vulnerabilities to prevent reinfection.
