Educational Talent Search (ETS) is a TRIO program 100% federally funded by the United States Department of Education in the amount of a $226,600 per year grant.  ETS provides 800 eligible junior high students, high school students and adults with services that will help them realize that college is a reality in their future.

Plans to Attend: SWCC for two years, then transfer to UNI. Major: Accounting “ETS is a good program. Even if you aren’t sure you want to go to college, it will still help you. They pay for your college application fees & help you apply to college and then talk about what to expect once you begin college.”

Plans to Attend: Iowa State University Major: Ag Education “Get involved, stay involved and there are many, many things ETS can offer to help you with. Karen, (ETS Outreach Advisor) has not only helped me with college stuff, but life in general.”

Plans to Attend: Missouri State University at Springfield Major: Psychology “ETS has helped me pick what college to go to and helped me pick my major.”

Plans to Attend: EQ School of Hair Design, Nebraska Major: Cosmetology “ETS basically showed me that I CAN DO IT, and yes, I can afford it. If it weren’t for ETS, I probably wouldn’t have even thought about college."

Ashley Syverson Red Oak Alternative School Senior

Our focus is to encourage and assist students to reach their academic and personal goals by helping them stay in school, enroll in a post-secondary school of their choice or help them complete the GED.
