The Iowa SBDC serves business owners and entrepreneurs in all 99 counties with business development services for small businesses. The South Central Iowa SBDC opened November 1, 2006 and is one of 15 centers in the Iowa SBDC network.

The South Central Iowa SBDC provides individualized and confidential business counseling and consulting services to entrepreneurial startup and existing small businesses. We focus on serving Adams, Adair, Clarke, Decatur, Madison, Montgomery, Ringgold, Taylor, and Union counties.

Workshops, seminars, and courses that address the needs of those interested in starting a business and existing small businesses are offered throughout the year, including Accounting for the Non-Accountant, Basic QuickBooks, Advanced QuickBooks, Understanding and Using Financial Statements, and Smart Start to Owning Your Own Business. Call Southwestern Adult and Continuing Education for information on current offerings at 641-782-1492.

Iowa Business Tax Registration - Register with Iowa Department of Revenue for withholding Iowa income tax on compensation paid, sales tax, use tax, etc. at http://www.state.ia.us/tax/business/business.html then click on "apply for a permit".

Iowa Unemployment Insurance Account - contact Iowa Workforce Department to establish unemployment insurance account.
