Health and Dental Insurance (for Full-time Employees)

  • Employee Health and Dental - 100% coverage
  • Dependent Health - 100% coverage
  • Dependent Dental - Pre-tax $premium$ deduction per month determined annually

Social Security

7.65% employer-employee match (6.2% Social Security; 1.45% Medicare)

Worker's Compensation

Employee coverage for medical and lost wages due to work related accidents and illness

Retirement Plan (for Full-time and Regular Part-time Employees)

Option 1: I.P.E.R.S. (Iowa Public Employees' Retirement System)

Employee contribution = 4.1%; Employer contribution = 6.35%

Option 2: TIA-CREF

Employee contribution = 4.1%; Employer contribution = 6.35%

Life Insurance (for Full-time Employees)

Annual salary rounded to the next thousand x 1.75; then rounded to the next thousand. Optional additional life insurance available.

Long-term Disability Insurance (for Full-time Employees)

Eligible after 90 days, then 60% of regular earnings

Vacation and Sick Leave (for Full-time Employees and Regular Part-time Employees)

Vacation and sick leave accrual will begin on the first date of employment; accrual rates vary based on employment status (i.e. full-time, part-time, etc.)

The following holidays are normally recognized:

Flex Program

Benefit which allows employees to deduct health and dependent care expenses on a pre-tax basis.

Tuition and Fee Remission (for Full-time Employees)

Employees and their dependents may apply for waiver of tuition and fees for courses at SWCC based on eligibility criteria.

Free confidential counseling available to employees and their dependents.
