Head Coach Lindsay
Stumpff
Lindsay Stumpff has been head coach for the Spartan
softball team since 2006. Stumpff has rebuilt the Spartan softball
program from the ground up, starting with quality area talent. As
the program has earned respect in the region, Coach Stumpff has
been able to expand her recruiting base.
Stumpff came to Southwestern from Belmont Abbey College in Belmont,
NC. At Belmont Abbey, she served as assistant coach for the softball
and volleyball programs. During her time at Belmont Abbey, she participated
in individual workouts, recruiting, and conditioning. She was instrumental
in the team winning a conference championship and qualifying for
an NCAA Regional Berth in Division II. Prior to her stint at Belmont
Abbey, she was an assistant coach at Mount Mercy College in Cedar
Rapids, IA.
Coach Stumpff is originally from Brooklyn, IA. She
attended Waldorf College where she played basketball and softball
and attained her associate’s degree. Two years later she graduated
from Mount Mercy with her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.
While a student at Mount Mercy, she played on the softball team.
In addition to her coaching duties at Southwestern,
Stumpff is the director of residential life.
