The 8th Grade Career Exploration Conferences will be held October 25, 2006 and February 21, 2007. Two hundred fifty 8th grade students participate each day. They will have the opportunity to explore Southwestern Community College's vocational programs and loisten to community professionals share information about their occupation and corresponding career pathway.

February is CTE Month

Beginning February 2007, Career and Technical Education Week will be expanded to CTE Month. Expanding the celebration from one week to a full month gives all schools and districts ample time in which to hold programs that celebrate career and technical education. ACTE encourages all educators, students, administrators and business professionals who support career and technical education to log on to the ACTE web site for promotional ideas and tips on organizing your CTE Month activities.
