ESL Instructor (Red Oak Center)
Individual will be teaching English to non-English speaking adults. Bachelors degree in education desired. Spanish knowledge helpful, not required. Will be scheduled 4 hours/week (days & evenings); $11.50 per hour.

Admissions Advisor

Individual will assist in the admissions office with student recruiting and will also assist with general student advising.

Qualifications include a minimum of an associate’s degree required. Individual must be highly energetic with strong leadership skills as well as excellent communication, human relations and computer skills. Must be willing to travel often as well as work occasional evening and weekend events.

This is a full-time position with benefits. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.

Simulation Lab Coordinator/Grant Coordinator
(This position will be re-evaluated at the end of the funding period)

The coordinator will serve as a liaison with college administration, the nursing chair, nursing faculty, and nursing students in providing skills lab services to fulfill the needs of the nursing curriculum. Individual will also be responsible for coordinating the use of the simulators in the simulation lab to assist nursing students in critical thinking and applying theory to clinical. Also responsible for updating and maintaining the simulation lab, developing and implementing plans, policies and procedures for the simulation lab, scheduling simulation rooms and maintaining inventory. Grant responsibilities shall include serving as the I-HUM grant lead and representing SWCC on related committees, managing the I-HUM grant budget, timely report completion and submission including quarterly and annual reports, and organizing, assisting and participating in marketing activities related to simulation for SWCC’s nursing program or any allied health-related continuing education program.

Qualifications include a minimum of an Iowa RN license required, or ability to obtain prior to employment. Preference will be given to candidates with a bachelor’s degree, BSN or MSN desired. Two years of occupational experience as an RN in a medical-surgical or related setting. Experience with medical skills, equipment, and computer technologies used in nursing areas.

Retention Specialist
(This position will be re-evaluated at the end of the funding period)

Individual will work in coordination with the nursing chair and nursing faculty to provide student support, tutoring and mentoring as applicable, for pre-nursing and nursing students during the academic year. Will also provide general academic and personal assistance to involved students, making referrals to other college personnel as necessary.

Qualifications include an associate’s degree in nursing, bachelor’s preferred. Iowa RN license required. Previous occupational experience as an RN desired.

Individual will be scheduled up to 20 hours per week during the academic period. Review of applications will begin Monday, December 1, 2014, and will continue until the position is filled.
