A team representing the Southwestern Community College athletics department golfed in the annual T-Fred Memorial Golf Tournament held on Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017, at Nishna Hills Golf Club in Atlantic.
The annual best ball golf tournament, raffle, and silent auction are held to honor the memory of SWCC graduate Trevor Frederickson, who was a native of Atlantic and a 2006 Atlantic High School graduate.
Frederickson graduated from SWCC's automotive repair technology program in June 2008. He played baseball while a student at SWCC. On June 18, 2009, Frederickson lost his life in an apartment fire. Following this tragedy, his family established a scholarship in his name with the SWCC Education Foundation.
The annual golf tournament is hosted by the Trevor Frederickson Memorial Fund, a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation, established in 2013. The goal of the fund is, "to give back to the community Trevor loved by supporting the projects and organizations that best represent his interests."
