Construction began Tuesday, November 19, 2008, on the new livestock lab facility at Southwestern's ag site north of the Creston campus. The new facility will be a 96' x 60' metal structure with a concrete floor.
The livestock lab building is being funded with Accelerated Career Education (ACE) funds. The ACE program assists Iowa's community colleges in establishing or expanding programs that train individuals in the occupations most needed by Iowa businesses.
Past ACE projects at SWCC have focused on nursing, business systems networking, and manufacturing technology.
