2010 All-Iowa Academic Team SelectionsCRESTON, IA — SWCC students Caitlyn Lesan and Jake Waddingham were recently named to the 2010 All-Iowa Academic Team and honored at the All-Iowa Academic Team Recognition Ceremony held on March 10 in Des Moines.

Lesan, a sophomore from Creston, is majoring in business management.  At SWCC, Lesan is a student ambassador, a member of Phi Theta Kappa, and has received the Who’s Who Among America’s Junior Colleges award for two consecutive years.  She was on the President’s List fall 2008 semester and has been on the Dean’s List each semester since then.  Lesan plans to transfer to the University of Iowa following SWCC graduation in May. She is a May 2008 graduate of Creston High School. 

Waddingham graduated from SWCC in December 2009 with his associate of arts degree.  He is majoring in journalism.  Waddingham was on the President’s List each semester of attendance at Southwestern. He was a member of SWCC’s chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, served as a resident assistant (RA) in the dorms, and ran for the Spartans’ nationally ranked cross country team.  He was honored as an Academic All-American for the 2009 cross country season.  Waddingham is currently completing an internship in the governor’s office at the state capitol and plans to transfer to the University of Texas at Austin in the fall.  He is a May 2008 graduate of Orient-Macksburg High School.
