2010 All-Region Softball Selections Announced

The 2010 Spartan Softball Team had a record setting year with their spring 2010 season.  It was the first 20 win season in 20 years at SWCC. 

The effort was led by five Spartan players--Nikkie Vreeland, Katie Tew, Cassie Kadel, Amber Brown, and Becky Anderson--who recently received honors from the coaches in the region.  As a team, this year's squad had a record setting 445 hits, 71 doubles, 16 triples, 15 homeruns, and a .325 batting average, which was fourth in the region behind three nationally ranked opponents.  Nikkie Vreeland set two school records with 22 stolen bases and seven triples.  Katie Tew set a new record with the most hits, 59, in a season.
