The 2014 SmartStart Kickoff for high school students is this Wednesday, October 8, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the SWCC Creston campus.
This event is a great way for high school students to check out SWCC and its campus! Students will be able to sit in on college classes, visit program areas, talk with instructors and students, and tour the residence halls. High school students in attendance will receive lunch, a SWCC T-shirt, and have the opportunity to win door prizes. The college will be awarding two-$250 SWCC scholarships for senior attendees.
The open house will coincide with the Creston College Fair, sponsored by the Iowa Association for College Admissions Counseling. The college fair will be open from 1-2:30 p.m. in the SWCC Student Center gymnasium. Approximately 45 colleges, career/technical schools, and military branches will be on-hand to answer questions and provide information to interested individuals. The college fair is open to the public.
High school students may register for the SmartStart Kickoff with their high school guidance counselors or by contacting Cait Maitlen, SWCC admissions coordinator, at 641.782.1453.
