SWCC Group posing in front of display table

Representatives from Southwestern Community College made the trek to the state capitol in Des Moines yesterday, Feb. 28, for 2017 Community College Day on the Hill, from 8 a.m.-2 p.m.

During this event, community college trustees, presidents, staff, and business partners showcased career and technical education programs from throughout the state.  At the SWCC table, the welding program was featured.  Ben Williamson, second year welding student from Winterset, accompanied the SWCC delegation to the event.  Williamson answered questions related to the welding program from elected officials, community college presidents, and other passers-by throughout the day.

Shown in photo above (L to R) is the group from SWCC:  Cait Maitlen, admissions director; Doug North, CTE recruiter, Ben Williamson, welding student; Dr. Barb Crittenden, college president; Terri Higgins, marketing and enrollment management director; and Tom Lesan, vice president of economic development.
