The following checklist will serve as a guide to take classes with Southwestern Community College (SWCC) as a high school student:

  • Meet with your guidance counselor to confirm you meet the qualifications under Iowa Senior Year Plus guidelines.
  • Complete the high school application for admissions to be accepted to the college.
  • Complete the registration form for your school, which tells us which classes you wish to take. It must be completed each semester you plan to attend SWCC.
  • Ensure records of COMPASS test, ACCUPLACER, or ACT of 19 or higher are submitted to SWCC. Students needing to complete the ACCUPLACER test may contact the Assessment Center for a testing appointment by calling 641.782.1320. Students may also test at the SWCC Red Oak Center, 712.623.2541, or the SWCC Osceola Center, 641.342.3531.
