The Southwestern baseball program has been a stepping stone to four-year institutions and pro baseball for high school players from all across the United States, Canada, Australia, and South Africa.

During the past 20 years the baseball program has been and is regarded as one of the top Junior College programs in the Midwest for the development of players during their freshman and sophomore years of college. The year around commitment and comprehensive training program has made Southwestern a haven for players with lofty goals. The fall season is approximately 9 weeks in length. Included in the fall is a wealth of individual instruction to compliment a 30 game schedule. Indoor workouts play an important part of the development of the players at Southwestern. With a huge indoor workout facility, indoor batting tunnel and fully equipped weight room, the dedicated player can continue their progress during the cold months of November, December and January.

The spring season begins in the middle of March. Southwestern's southern trip is considered one of the toughest slate of games among Northern J.C. programs. In the past this trip has included stops in Texas, Florida, Arkansas, and Alabama. This trip, combined with the excellent competition in the Iowa Division I Juco league, will allow each and every player an opportunity to be exposed to numerous professional scouts and four year recruiters.

Hundreds of players have used Southwestern as an institution to quench their thirst for higher learning and the baseball program to realize their dreams on the field.
