Johnson Reagan

Reagan Johnson, a May 2013 graduate of Clarinda High School, is the newest team member of the Southwestern Community College (SWCC) sports shooting team.

Johnson will be a student at SWCC starting with the fall 2014 semester. He is majoring in carpentry and building trades and electrical technology, with a goal of becoming a contractor.

He is the son of Loren and Jodi Johnson of Clarinda.

The 2013-14 year marked the first year for the Spartans’ sports shooting program. With Charlie Mundy of Osceola at the helm, the Spartans qualified for the Association of College Unions International (ACUI) Collegiate Clay Target Championships in San Antonio, TX, in March. The Spartans took three squads and placed 15th in trap shooting. There were approximately 70 colleges and universities competing at the event.


Sports Shooting Team Fundraiser

What: 4 + 1 person team trap shoot (50 targets)
Cost: $100 per team of four plus purchase of SWCC sport shooting team member
When: Saturday, May 2, 2015 @ 10 a.m.
Where: High Lakes Outdoor Alliance Gun Club facilities North of Afton
Other Details:  Since trap shooting requires a team of five, SWCC sport shooting team members will be auctioned to fill the fifth spot. Supply your own shells (target loads only), shotgun, and hearing and eye protection. Some ammo will be available for purchase. Trophies for the top three squads and a prize for the "impossible shot" (trying to break two targets with one shot). Cost for the "impossible shot" is $5 per round, run three rounds. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.
