Morgan Knorr, a Southwestern Community College (SWCC) sophomore from Savannah, MO, recently received word she will be awarded an athletic scholarship to play basketball at the University of Illinois at Springfield, under the direction of second-year Head Coach Chad Oletzke, starting with the fall 2014 semester.
Knorr, a May 2012 graduate of Savannah High School, came to SWCC in the fall of 2012. This past season, Knorr led the SWCC team in scoring with 12 points per game. She averaged 3.8 rebounds and three assists per game. In addition to playing basketball for the SWCC Spartans, Knorr was a member of the college’s first-year sports shooting team during the 2013-14 academic year.
Knorr has been an arts and sciences student at SWCC, completing her general education requirements for transfer. She is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. At the University of Illinois—Springfield, Knorr will major in biology with a minor in psychology.
