Job Description: Student employees will assist with all aspects of a diversified crop and livestock program. They will also assist in daily care and management of the cattle and goat herd – feeding, watering, herd health, and management. Student position may also examine animals to detect illness, injury or disease. Student employees will also help with everyday tasks that need to be completed at the agricultural site, including maintenance of shop, grounds, equipment and clerical work. This position may include driving trucks, tractors and other equipment for the production practices on the farm.

Rate of Pay for position: $8.50 per hour

Qualifications: Student is expected to carry out responsibilities with excellence and respect to Southwestern Community College. They must have good work ethic and display necessary interactive skills with faculty, farm managers, and students. In addition, students must be able to work independently and be able to accomplish tasks without much supervision. Student employees need to have a desire to work and learn agriculture fundamentals or have prior experience in agriculture.

Food Service Worker (General)

Purpose of Position: This position performs a wide variety of tasks in the preparation, serving, clean-up and inventory control of food and company owned equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. Contact the Financial Aid Office for a more complete list.

  • Assist with meal preparations
  • Clean and Sanitize all equipment and utensils after each use
  • Control portioning of food
  • Complete production sheets
