RDG 005 : RDG 008   Reading and Study Skills
This course is designed to help the student achieve a higher degree of reading proficiency and develop fundamental study skills to a higher degree of efficiency.  Attention is given to the unique needs of individual students.

MAT 090 : MAT 120 Math Skills
This individualized course is designed to help the student improve math skills used in everyday life and in specialized areas. The primary goals are to assure understanding of the math concepts and to practice the skills necessary to improve proficiency in using them. Attention is given to the unique needs of individual students.

ENG 040 : ENG 043 Communication Skills
This individualized course is designed to help students improve their written communication skills. The main areas of study include a review of grammar, capitalization, punctuation, and spelling. Attention is given to the unique needs of individual students.

SDV 114 Strategies For Academic Success
This course is designed to help students learn and practice skills that will enable them to be successful in their academic courses. Topics covered include time management, concentration and memory, learning styles, critical reading and thinking, mastery of college textbooks, note taking, writing in college courses, test-taking, and personal issues that face many college students.

ENG 020 Fundamentals of Writing
This course provides the student with an opportunity to learn and practice basic writing skills. Topics addressed include personal writing, paragraph development, longer compositions, and grammar and usage review. This course emphasizes paragraph development. Students may use this course to prepare for Technical Communication, Business Communications, Business English, English Compositions I, and other courses requiring writing skills.

MAT 041 Basic Math
This course provides the student with an opportunity to build a foundation of basic math skills. Topics covered include whole numbers, fractions, decimals, ratio and proportion, percents, and applications for business and consumers. Students may use this course to prepare for Technical Math, Business Math, Pre-Algebra, standardized tests, and general consumer applications.

MAT 052 Pre-Algebra
This is a course intended for students who have had no previous experience in Algebra. The course covers the following topics: operations on whole numbers, introduction to integers and algebraic expressions, fractional notation, decimal notation, introduction to graphing, ratio and proportion, and percent notation.
