Bill Huntington, Southwestern Community College head cross country coach, announced two more Iowa runners who will be joining the Spartans cross country program for the 2011-12 school year.  Regina Hafner (front left) of Panora, and Delaney Turner (front right) of Panora have both signed on with the Spartans. Hafner and Turner are both seniors at Panorama High School and will graduate in May as well.

Recruit Kenny Blass of Guthrie Center High School Guthrie Center signed a letter of intent to run on the SWCC Cross Country Team this fall.

The Spartan men turned in not only some of the their best times of the year but some of the best times of their careers to win the Junior College Division of the Brissman Lundeen Invitational in Rock Island, Illinois. Walter Bolingo led the way with a 2nd place finish followed closely by Sam Mckinney, Clayton Fritz, DeAndre Ingram and Ethan Warrior who finished 5th,8th, 12th, and 19th respectively. The Spartans finished in a tie with 17th ranked Illinois Central but edged them in the tie breaker when Matt Carr finished in 23rd ahead of ICC’s 6th man who finished 32nd.
