Tanner Kellogg, a 6'2" forward from Albia, has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for Southwestern next season. Kellogg brings a solid three-point stroke to the Spartans, connecting on 40 percent of his attempts as a senior in high school. Other variables, however, were what caught the eye of Spartan Head Coach Mike Holmes. Holmes said, “In our system, we look for guys who can do the important things without a ton of recognition. Tanner has an understanding of screening that most players coming out of high school do not, he has a grasp already on our defensive basics, and his motor never stops.”
Kellogg is the first to officially join returners Larry Mason, Matt Orchard, Jared Theis, and Jack Harrison for the upcoming 2013-14 season.
