SWCC Head Softball Coach Lindsay Stumpff has received word four of her players—Maegan Ellis, Amber Brown, Laura Ramsey, and Ashley West—have been selected by the Region VI Conference coaches to receive all-region honors.

 

 

 

Maegen Ellis

Sophomore Maegan Ellis of Carlisle was selected as First Team All-Region. Ellis was the starting outfielder for the Spartans and led the team with 60 hits, for a .438 batting average, and 16 RBIs (runs batted in).

Amber Brown

Sophomore Amber Brown of Carlisle was selected Honorable Mention All-Region. Brown started in all but six games in her two years at SWCC. She was the Spartan third baseman her freshman year and was the starting catcher her sophomore year. Amber was third on the Spartan team in hits with 49, for a .360 batting average and 24 RBIs.

Laura Ramsey

Sophomore Laura Ramsey of Des Moines was selected Honorable Mention All-Region by the coaches in the conference. Offensively, Ramsey was second on the team in hits with 51, for a .342 batting average and led the team in RBIs with 39. Defensively, Ramsey was third in the nation in innings pitched with 207.2.

Ashley West

Freshman Ashley West of Prescott was selected Honorable Mention All-Region by the coaches in the Region VI Conference. West began the season at first base, but due to injuries was moved to second base half way through the year. She started in all but one game in her rookie season and was fourth on the Spartan squad in hits with 47, for a .309 batting average, and second on the team in RBIs with 27.
