Southwestern Community College Head Softball Coach Lindsay Stumpff has announced Carrie Kindred, pitcher from Clarke High School in Osceola, will be joining the Spartan softball program for the 2013-14 school year.
Kindred will major in nursing at Southwestern. She is the daughter of Tina and Greg Kindred of Osceola.
Last week, Southwestern Community College Head Softball Coach Lindsay Stumpff announced outfielder Katey Gambrel from Saydel High School in Des Moines will be joining the Spartans softball program for the 2013-14 school year.
During high school, Gambrel was a multi-sport athlete lettering in basketball, cheerleading, softball, and tennis. She was class president and a member of the homecoming court. She was an honor roll student and received academic letters.
Southwestern Community College Head Softball Coach Lindsay Stumpff announced last week third baseman Jordan Williamson from Interstate 35 High School will be joining the Spartans softball program during the 2013-14 school year.
During high school, Williamson, of St. Charles, was a multi-sport athlete lettering in softball four years, volleyball three years, basketball three years, and track three years. She was named second team all-conference in softball her junior year and second team all-conference in basketball her senior year. She was captain of her high school volleyball and basketball teams. She also exceled academically, lettering in academics and being named to the A and B honor rolls throughout high school.
Congratulations to the Spartan softball team on a great season! The Spartans ended play at the regional softball tournament at Harlan Rogers Complex in Ford Dodge on Tues., May 7, 2013.
The Spartans started tourney play on Monday, making it through the opening round to face North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) on Tuesday. The Spartans fought hard and came away 3-2 in the game vs. NIACC. Third baseman Danyielle Barger's two homeruns assisted tremendously in the victory. Spartan sophomore Leah Kipfer pitched the game with a broken ankle.
