Carmen SubbertFor the second week in a row and third time on the season, Spartan volleyball player Carmen Subbert of Stanton has been named Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) offensive athlete of the week.

According to the ICCAC Web site, Subbert's performance during the week of October 13-19 included an average of 4.4 kills and 2.1 digs in 13 sets. Also, she had a hitting percentage of 36 percent and continues to lead the Spartans offensively as the team approaches the end of the season.

Carmen SubbertFor the second time in recent weeks, Spartan volleyball player Carmen Subbert of Stanton has been named Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) offensive athlete of the week.

According to the ICCAC Web site, Subbert's performance during the week of October 6-12 included an average of more than four kills per set over 17 sets. She added 2.25 digs in those sets as well. Overall on the week she had 68 kills and 38 digs. Her best game came against Southeast CC when she killed 22 balls on 45 percent hitting and made 11 digs.

Carmen SubbertSouthwestern Community College (SWCC) freshman Carmen Subbert has been named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Athlete of the Week. 

According to the ICCAC Web site, Subbert, who plays outside hitter, hit with great efficiency in the Spartans two matches last week. Her 5.67 kills per set were in part because of her near 45 percent hitting rate. She added 1.8 digs per set to solidify her weekly award. 

Subbert is a May 2014 graduate of Stanton High School.

The Spartans hosted the seventh ranked Kirkwood Eagles last night, Wednesday, September 10. The Spartans showed much improvement and fight to start off the night, keeping pace with the Eagles but falling short in each game, 21-25, 20-25, and 17-25.

The Spartans will take to the road this weekend, September 12-13, for a two-day tournament in Marshalltown against four non-conference teams.
