The objective of this program is to prepare students
for an
entry-level position in engineering, design, fabrication,
construction, and inspection phases of the construction industry.
The structural drafting program provides students with a good blend
of the basics, starting with fundamental drafting, then moving
quickly into architectural, followed by concrete technology, and
computer aided drafting (CAD). Students study plan reading, which
enables them to logically locate items in commercial and
residential building and bridge plans. Detailing fabrication
drawings for structural and miscellaneous steel is very demanding
and requires specialized training. Students who apply themselves
will graduate with the "right stuff".
The program offers students the option of graduating
after one
or two years.
