Education Foundation Scholarship Application

Scholarships awarded are to be used at Southwestern Community College for the 2014-2015 academic year. Scholarships are awarded based on many criteria. The information you provide will allow us to best evaluate your fit for appropriate scholarships.

Mid-year scholarships are awarded to students who have not yet received an Education Foundation scholarship for the 2014-15 academic year.  Applications will not be accepted after December 1, 2014, at 5 p.m. CDT. Applications will not be considered complete until all required elements are submitted. Required items for these applications:

  • Submission of the form below
  • Creative writing essay "Explain how life experience has shaped who you are and discuss challenges you have overcome (i.e. educational, financial, personal, medical, etc.)."
  • ONE recent (within last six months), signed letter of reference from ONE the following
    • high school or college faculty or staff member
    • community or business leader
    • an employer

The letter (one letter total, not one from each) of reference must be on company letterhead and dated within the last six months. Any submitted items that do not meet these criteria will not be accepted making your application incomplete.

Items can be later submitted via e-mail, in person, or by mail. Your scholarship application will not be complete until these items have been submitted. No incomplete or late applications will be accepted.
