The Student Support Services (SSS) Program provides
support and assistance to help college students complete their academic
studies at Southwestern Community College and transfer to a 4-year
college or university to complete a Bachelor’s Degree. The
SSS professional staff provides individualized services that address
specific needs of students as they confront the challenges of completing
a college degree. SSS is funded 100% ($249, 944) by the U.S. Department
of Education and serves 180 participants each academic year. A variety
of services are provided to assist students.

students who are either in SSS or eligible for SSS.

determining short term and long term goals. We work closely
with Career Services to help students move toward their career
goals.

aid available and the methods needed to obtain that aid. Grant

who complete applications and are qualified for the award.

Academic Workshops- Throughout
the year, SSS offers workshops based on the requests and needs
of the SSS students.
-
Cultural/Social Activities-
SSS members are encouraged to participate in cultural/social
activities sponsored by SSS and SWCC. These activities may include
educational field trips to museums, concerts, plays, musicals,

speaker is held each Spring to recognize participants for their
accomplishments throughout the year.
