Southwestern offers a variety of classes for health professionals. Choose one of the following areas for the current classes scheduled. (All health classes must be paid at the time of registration or a letter received from your employer stating that they will pay for the class in order to secure your spot on the roster.  Most classes are limited in size.)

To assist in streamlining the registration process we are going to an online registration format. Please select your class and the dates you want then register by clicking on the online registration link or going to class registration. Don’t forget to print off your class flier with dates and times of your course. If your class is being paid for by your employer pick bill agency and be prepared to put the information for your employer in at the end of the registration form.

Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour course that presents an overview of mental illness and substance abuse disorders. The training gives participants the skills needed to recognize, reach out to, and provide initial help and support to someone who may be experiencing a mental health or substance abuse problem or crisis. Just as CPR training helps a person without medical training assist a person experiencing a heart attack, Mental Health First Aid training helps a person assist someone experiencing a mental health crisis. The instructor for this class is Cathay Pringnitz. Cathay has a Master of Science degree in Human Services and she has a great deal of experience working with people with developmental disabilities.
