Attending Southwestern Community College is a great way to get started in your college career. If your academic goal is to earn a four-year bachelor’s degree, you can come to Southwestern for the first two years and take all of your general education requirements before transferring to a four-year college.

Your focus at Southwestern would be to obtain the Associate of Arts degree. Upon receiving the AA degree, you would have the option of transferring to one of many four-year colleges or universities. Because Southwestern is accredited by North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, our credits are readily accepted at most colleges and universities across the U.S.

We have official articulation agreements with ten schools in Iowa, two schools in Missouri, and the University of Phoenix. You can access those agreements by clicking on Course Equivalency Guides below.
