The SWCC Drama Club invites Southwestern students and employees to audition for the Drama Club fall plays, which will be performed November 15-16, 2017. Auditions will be Wednesday, Oct. 4, from 2-3:30 p.m., and Thursday, Oct. 5, from 2-3:30 p.m., in room 145 of the Instructional Center.
The fall plays are short, no longer than 10 minutes apiece, and range from the normal to the strange. Those wishing to tryout have no need of prior theater experience, and you do not have to be a drama club member to join in on the fun.
Auditions consist of cold readings (which means you do not have to have a monologue prepared).
Once again, Stephen Jefferies, English instructor, will be directing the fall plays. Kelly Franklin, English instructor and Drama Club sponsor, will serve as assistant director and stage manager.
This is the third year for the student/faculty/community written plays, and once again admission will be via donation of a non-perishable food item or toiletries (which are first donated to students in need and then to the local food pantries).
We encourage you to join in on the fun! This is a great way to get a little bit of theater experience, or simply tread the boards again (if you're experienced already).
Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to audition.
