A concussion can be a very serious injury. Concussions are not only a result of organized sports, concussions can happen to anyone.

A Discussion About Concussion, scheduled for Wednesday, July 18, 2018, from 5:30-8 p.m., in the Southwestern Community College Instructional Center, room 180, is a FREE workshop being presented by Greater Regional Rehabilitation Services and Brain Injury Alliance of Iowa. During the event, valuable information will be shared concerning the signs and symptoms of concussions, the significance and treatment, valuable resources, and potential lasting effects and rehab indications.

This workshop is intended for nurses, EMS personnel, coaches of all sports teams, and school officials. Parents and community members are welcome to attend as well. A Discussion About Concussion is approved for continuing education hours for nurses, EMS personnel, and coaches. SWCC is IBN provider #9.
