Creston— The Southwestern Community College (SWCC) board of trustees met electronically on Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2017, at 7:30 a.m. in the president’s office in the college’s Administration Center.
The board approved corporate authorization resolutions for Houghton State Bank, First National Bank, Clarke County State Bank, and Iowa State Savings Bank.
A brief discussion took place regarding the December closing of the Ferrara Candy Company in Creston.
During the president’s report, Dr. Barb Crittenden, SWCC president, noted the passing of Lanny DeMott, husband of former long-time SWCC board member Jan DeMott of Bedford.
Jerry Smith, board member from Osceola and Iowa Association for Community College Trustees (IACCT) representative, gave a brief report regarding the October IACCT board meeting.
The meeting adjourned following Smith’s report.
