Automotive Programs Hosting 2015 Open House

The Southwestern Community College (SWCC) automotive repair technology and collision repair/refinish programs have announced the 2015 Automotive Open House will be held Fri., April 10, 2015, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. in the automotive area in the Instructional Center.
During the Automotive Open House, visitors will be able to tour the automotive shops, meet the instructors, participate in a welding contest, compete in a tire changing contest, meet vendors, view vehicles in the car show, and enjoy food and fun. Pre-registration is not required.
The Automotive Open House will be held in conjunction with SWCC's CTE Day, an event that gives potential students opportunities to explore the career and technical education programs at SWCC.
Auto Collision Repair Places First in Pedal Car Challenge

Southwestern's auto collision repair/refinish program came home with first place honors in the Pedal Car Challenge, part of the 60th Annual O'Reilly Auto Parts World of Wheels, held February 27-March 1, at the Century Link Center in Omaha, NE.

CRESTON — Southwestern Community College (SWCC) automotive collision repair/refinish students Zach Mullen of New Market and Garrett Hogue of Lenox took home second and fifth place finishes respectively at the 2014 SkillsUSA Championships held June 25-26, 2014, in Kansas City, MO.
