Auto collision repair/refinish student named SWCC Tech Achiever

April 22, 2021, CRESTON, Iowa—Southwestern Community College (SWCC) auto collision repair/refinish student Sergio Sandoval of Osceola was honored as a SWCC Tech Achiever during a ceremony held on Thursday, April 15, 2021, in the college’s automotive department. The presentation happened during SWCC’s Pay it Forward Week, an annual event on campus that promotes kindness and giving.

Arnold Motors Automotive Parts Store of Creston recently donated sandpaper, valued at $2500, to the Southwestern Community College (SWCC) auto collision repair/refinish program.
Students place at 2019 SkillsUSA Championships

CRESTON, Iowa—Southwestern Community College’s (SWCC’s) welding fabrication team came home from the 2019 SkillsUSA Championship, held June 24-28, 2019, in Louisville, KY, with a third-place national finish.
SWCC student awarded tool chest and set

Southwestern Community College (SWCC) student James Bourn, of Elliott, was awarded the Automotive Career Starter Tool Set Award through the college’s Education Foundation.
This award was established by Nile Cornelison, who attended SWCC (at that time known as Creston Junior College) from 1960-62, in conjunction with Advance Auto Parts and the CARQUEST Technical Institute. The award includes the gift of a complete career starter tool set and tool chest.
Southwestern students place third in Pedal Car Challenge
