A great way to learn more about Southwestern Community College is to meet with a member of the SWCC admissions team. Admissions representatives are available year-round for college visits, campus tours, and class registration. The admissions department is located in the Administration Center on the Creston campus.
Hobbies/Interests: Whenever I have free time I’m usually with family and friends doing all things outdoors like horseback riding, camping, fishing, etc.

Most often asked question: What did you do to help pay for college when you attended?
Your answer to that question: Along with applying for my high school scholarships, I also applied for SWCC’s Education Foundation. With the awards that I got through my high school and with SWCC’s Education Foundation, I was able to lower my tuition costs by a good amount.
Education: Bachelor of Science degree in agriculture education, communications option, from Iowa State University- GO STATE!
Hobbies/Interests: Being with family and friends, showing livestock, photography, and running.
Favorite thing about SWCC: The students, staff, and faculty! Everyone is so welcoming and caring. It’s easy to make SWCC your “home” on day one!

Your answer to that question: Get involved with as many activities, intramurals and clubs as possible! They are a great way to travel, have fun, and make life-long friends.

Your answer to that question: I usually point out all of the recreational activities available as well as the dining and shopping opportunities. I am often surprised that many people appreciate the small town atmosphere of Creston!

Your answer to that question: You can get the same education that you would get at a bigger school but spend less and get more attention with smaller class sizes.
