As a single mother of four, SWCC’s online program always made me feel like I was a part of the campus, even all the way from Washington state. You worry as an online student that you won't get as much attention and help, but that is the furthest thing from the truth. My instructors were very hands-on and responsive; they were available by phone, email, and Zoom conferences. I also joined Phi Theta Kappa and have received so many scholarships that all my school has been paid for since finishing at SWCC. My career goal was to get into a nursing program and I got accepted into a dual ADN/RN-BSN program. So needless to say, SWCC was the key to all of my success and I would recommend this school to anyone.

Taking online classes has been super beneficial for me as I have a very busy & sometimes inconsistent schedule, so I am able to fit in my studies when it works best for me. The past two semesters I have been completely online which has helped me tremendously when having to focus on a big knee surgery & recovery process. My final semester I will be doing all online except one in-class math class! Taking online classes assured me I could learn what I needed for my degree, but learn at home in a more comfortable setting when I was unable to walk/drive/get to class! Another great thing about taking online classes through SWCC is that my learning is at my own pace. Sometimes I do better if I can spend more time on a certain area & make sure I know the material before testing. For a student like me, I do better when I am able to take the material and use my own strategies to comprehend it! SWCC was also a great choice because I was able to continue my dancing experience through being a member of the SWCC dance team for two years. Not only have I gotten to enjoy my time continuing to perform for my home community, I have gotten to study exactly what I need for my future career!!
