Malwarebytes is an incredibly useful, free, tool for removing infections that are already on your computer. 

AVG Free

AVG offers this great virus scanning application for home users.

Avast Free Antivirus

Another popular free antivirus program.

Trend Micro HouseCall

Trend Micro HouseCall is free online tool for checking whether your computer has been infected by viruses, spyware, or other malware. HouseCall performs additional security checks to identify and fix vulnerabilities to prevent reinfection.

Microsoft Office 365
All current Southwestern students are eligible to installed Microsoft Office on their computers for free.  You will need to be able to login to your SWCC email address.

Open Office

A free productivity suite that is similar to Microsoft Office.  Make sure you "Save As" Microsoft Office, in order to make your documents compatible with the computers on campus.


A resource for freeware, shareware, and trial offer downloads. Download.com ensures that all downloads from its site are virus free.
