Financial Aid

SWCC's financial aid office exists to provide current and future students with information about the resources available to fund their education at Southwestern Community College and to assist them with the process of applying for and receiving state and federal aid.

Huge changes are coming to the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the upcoming 2024-25 aid year! Southwestern’s financial aid team wants to help ensure you and your family have a full understanding of these changes and what you can do to prepare for completion of the 2024-25 FAFSA. Please check out SWCC's 2024-25 SWCC FAFSA Checklist to stay on top of these changes and learn the steps to apply for aid:

2024-25 SWCC FAFSA Checklist

The 2024-25 FAFSA will be available by December 31, 2023. Colleges will begin receiving students' FAFSA forms by the end of January 2024.

Southwestern students are encouraged to search and apply for all resources available to help them with their educational expenses.  Take time to explore the financial aid pages on SWCC's website, see links above to learn more.  All of the materials located on the financial aid pages are made available at the financial aid office in paper copy as well.  Every type of aid or source of funding has eligibility criteria that a student must meet before he or she can receive those funds.  It is important students read and understand the conditions for which they can apply and receive aid.
