Financial Aid

SWCC's financial aid office exists to provide current and future students with information about the resources available to fund their education at Southwestern Community College and to assist them with the process of applying for and receiving state and federal aid.

The stops and starts of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) process this year are taking their toll. Southwestern’s financial aid team knows the delays are making it difficult for you and your family to make an informed college decision and want to ensure our students have a full understanding of these changes. We are here to support you in making the best college decision for your future.

Please review our 2024-25 FAFSA Checklist for details on how to apply for financial aid at Southwestern.

2024-25 SWCC FAFSA Checklist

Due to ongoing U.S. Department of Education delays, we currently expect to begin sending financial aid offers to incoming students in early June 2024. This is dependent on receiving accurate FAFSA data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Most scholarships awarded through our SWCC Education Foundation will be released to students as part of their financial aid offer.

Education Foundation Scholarship Application

Southwestern students are encouraged to search and apply for all resources available to help them with their educational expenses. Take time to explore the financial aid pages on SWCC's website, see links above to learn more. All of the materials located on the financial aid pages are made available at the financial aid office in paper copy as well. Every type of aid or source of funding has eligibility criteria that a student must meet before he or she can receive those funds. It is important students read and understand the conditions for which they can apply and receive aid.
