The Iowa Intermediary Network has been working diligently to modify work-based learning opportunities to fit the current needs of educators, students, school districts, and employers, while ensuring equitable access across the state.

Intermediaries worked closely with Iowa Department of Education CTE consultants to develop virtual work-based learning opportunities connected directly to state CTE standards and have developed free statewide live events. These events began in October and continued through November. To compliment the live events, example assessments for educators, are available for use. The CTE Standards Live events had an overwhelmingly positive response. Data from the first few events alone, illustrated that 3,803 (unduplicated) students and 163 (unduplicated) educators from across the state took advantage of the work-based learning opportunities. If students and educators missed the chance to view the events live, the digital downloads can be located on the Iowa Intermediary Network website, www.iowain.org, by selecting the Connection Lab tab. Make sure to visit the website often, as more content is added!

In addition to the statewide events, the intermediary contact for Region XIV (SWCC's region) is Ann Schlapia. Schlapia is available to assist local school districts in navigating virtual work-based learning opportunities.
