Get Involved With Pay it Forward!
Southwestern Community College’s annual Pay it Forward (PIF) Week is coming up April 15-20, 2018! During PIF Week, SWCC students, faculty, and staff get involved by encouraging positive behaviors and service to the community. The hope is that these efforts will ripple and spread community-wide in Creston, Osceola, and Red Oak.
SWCC DANCE MARATHON
The Southwestern Community College (SWCC) student ambassadors will be hosting a Miracle Network Dance Marathon on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, from 6-10 p.m. in the SWCC Student Center gymnasium. Everyone is invited to attend and get involved!
The SWCC Dance Marathon has a goal of $5,000. Participants are highly encouraged to secure donations prior to the dance marathon. Funds raised will go to the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital in Iowa City. Dance, food, entertainment, and prizes will be provided throughout the event.
MEALS FROM THE HEARTLAND
During PIF Week 2018, one of the main events will be a Mobile Hunger Fight event through Meals From the Heartland. The Mobile Hunger Fight will provide the opportunity for SWCC to sponsor a meal packaging event at the SWCC Student Center gymnasium on Wednesday, April 18, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
Through Meals From the Heartland’s partnerships, their meals have fed more than 22 million hungry people in central Iowa, New Mexico, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Honduras, Haiti, Kenya, Dominican Republic, Philippines, Ethiopia, South Africa, and Tanzania. If you have questions about SWCC’s Mobile Hunger Event, please contact Beth Kulow, SWCC dean of student services.
Don't forget to post your PIF activities by completing the PIF Activity Form or post on the SWCC Pay It Forward Facebook Page!
