In light of the declaration by Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds that the spread of COVID-19 has reached a State of Public Health Disaster Emergency, Southwestern Community College will be modifying how services are provided to students and the general public. These adjustments will enable the college to continue business operations while minimizing direct person-to-person contact and adhering to recommendations regarding gatherings.

Effective at noon on March 18, 2020, college offices will be staffed, but all college facilities will be closed to the general public and walk-in traffic. Essential services will be offered through remote methods such as email, phone, and other virtual means. Individuals scheduled for personal visits or campus tours will be contacted and rescheduled or provided assistance as needed. As previously announced, all college credit classes will transition to online delivery on March 23. Students should watch for communication from their instructors. These measures will remain in effect through Friday, April 3, and may be extended if conditions warrant.
