Here's the info you need to get started at SWCC.

  1. Application for Admission

    Fill out the online application today!

  2. Transcripts

    Submit final high school transcripts or High School Equivalency Diploma scores to SWCC. Submit official college or university transcript(s).

  3. Testing

    Students must have ACCUPLACER scores, a current ACT composite score of 19+ or high school transcript on file at SWCC’s admissions office prior to course registration.

    To schedule an appointment to take the ACCUPLACER test, contact SWCC’s Assessment Center in Creston at 641.782.1320.

  4. New student orientation - Watch your email for information regarding New Student Orientation.
  5. Register for classes
    • Class Schedule - View a listing of all available classes
    • Pre-advising Questionnaire - New students are asked to complete this pre-advising questionnaire prior to registering for classes. Once complete, please email the saved document to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or send to the admissions representative you have been working with during your application process to Southwestern.
    • Meet with Admissions - Sign up for the classes you will be taking
    • Textbook Information - Find the books you will need for your classes
  6. Student Housing

    If you plan to live on campus, submit the student housing application. Your application for housing is not considered complete until the required $150 deposit is received.

  7. Pay for College
    • Scholarships - Look at the many scholarships Southwestern has available to help you pay for college.
    • Financial Aid - Check out financial options and get a game plan to help you succeed.
