The college’s first annual SWCC Week will be held November 7-11, 2011! Fun events are being planned for SWCC students throughout that week. Some of the events will include a dodge ball tournament, a brain bowl, Creston-wide scavenger hunt, and construction of a canned goods sculpture. Monday, November 7
8:15-8:30 a.m. SWCC Greet Outside on campus
Faculty and staff welcome students to campus. Get your agenda for the week.
Noon Brain Bowl Student Center
Teams of three will challenge their knowledge during the SWCC Brain Bowl. Students, faculty, and staff may participate. Get your team together now or come that day and be teamed up with other individuals. See Tracey Evans (office in the Student Center), at
7 p.m. Dodgeball SWCC Gym
Co-ed teams of up to 10 individuals (must have at least three females and only six on court at one time) will compete in a dodge ball tournament. Plan your team ahead of time or come and be placed on a team at the event. Top three teams will receive awards and bragging rights for the rest of the year. Register with student activities (Tracey Evan’s office in Student Center) or in the Spartan Suites office. Please have teams there by 6:30 p.m. to go over rules.
8:30 p.m. Game Night Student Center
Come play and compete in Call of Duty at Game Night for SWCC Students. The SWCC Student Ambassadors are the sponsor for this event. Sign up with Admissions in the Administration Center. Deadline for entry is Friday, November 4 by 4 p.m. Rules and other information can be found on the event's page on Facebook.

Noon Creston-Wide Scavenger Hunt Around town
Teams of three to five students will participate in a Scavenger Hunt across the city of Creston. Meet at the Student Center at 11:45 a.m. for sign-in, rules, and instructions. Teams must complete the hunt and be back to the Student Center in a designated amount of time. Student Senate is the sponsor for this event. Details for this event will be available online during the next week. Sign up your team online today. Pizza will be available upon return to all participants while team scores are tabulated. Door prizes will be given away in addition to prizes for the winning team!

11 a.m.-1 p.m. President’s Chili Cook-off Courtyard, Instructional Center
Faculty and staff volunteers will test their chili-making skills by competing in a chili cook-off with a panel of judges. With a donation of $5, you will get to eat their creations, a bag of chips, a cookie, and a drink. Funds raised will be donated to the Creston Food Bank. 11 a.m.-Noon Music in the Courtyard Courtyard, Instructional Center
SWCC School for Music Vocations will provide one hour of music entertainment in the courtyard during the chili cook-off. Listen to the talented groups we have right here on campus.

Halftime of Game Minute to Win It SWCC Gym
Individuals interested in participating in Minute to Win It, during half-time of the women’s basketball game, should sign up at the gate. Minute to Win It players’ names will be drawn at random and asked to complete a Minute to Win It game during one minute’s worth of time. Prizes will be given if the individual completes the task in that amount of time.

12:30-4 p.m. Bone Marrow Donor Day Student Center
"Get Swabbed" and find out if you are a match for a bone marrow patient! "Get Swabbed. Save a Life." is a national college campaign where college students join forces with DKMS to recruit bone marrow donors who can potentially help save the lives of patients stricken with blood cancers, such as leukemia and lymphoma. Through the campaign, DKMS hopes to recruit more than 50,000 new bone marrow donors and add them to the Be The Match Registry. The day of the drive your cheek will be swabbed. The "match" happens later.
5 p.m. Out on the Farm followed by cookout Ag Site
Out on the Farm will be full of fun and crazy activities at SWCC’s ag site. Come by yourself or come with a group, but be ready for a good time. Contests will include a hay bale toss, greased pumpkin contest, tug of war, pennies in the straw, and calf bottle chugging.

Noon Veteran’s Day Lunch Spartan Café, Student Center
Student veterans, as well as faculty and staff who have served in the military, are invited to attend a Veteran’s Day lunch sponsored by Phi Theta Kappa. Veterans should check in at the east side of the Student Center in the reserved seating area.
