The SWCC Drama Club will be performing a Mascot Murder Mystery during the Southern Prairie YMCA's Auction Fundraiser on Sat., February 6, 2016, starting at 5 p.m. at the Supertel Inn & Conference Center in Creston.
The setting for the murder mystery follows:
The Y has recently decided to jump into Arena Football, and they have named themselves the Hydrators. They've got a team and a mascot! Their mascot is the Hydranator, but her real name is Helen Henderson. Helen is 23 and has wanted to be a mascot her whole life. She just graduated from mascot school, much to the chagrin of her family who wanted her to join the family accounting firm, and auditioned for the part of the Hydranator (a water bottle mascot). She was awarded the mascot role and just moved here from Florida. Tonight, the night of the Tailgate party event, is her first time dressed as the mascot and she is very excited. She's been lonely since her move from Florida, having broken up with her boyfriend Victor to pursue her mascot dreams. Will this be Helen's first and only appearance as the Hydranator?
Characters for the performance include Joey and Zoey Sparkles (played by Joe Larson and Ahdri Evans), Detective Arthur Doyle, Victor Vito, Moon Sunset, Lawrence O'Malley, Penelope Parker, and Hester Black. Kelly Franklin is the sponsor for the SWCC Drama Club.
Tickets for this event are $35 each and may be purchased at the Southern Prairie YMCA. Proceeds will be donated to Team YMCA.
