The Real Group, a world renowned five-member a cappella ensemble from Sweden, will be performing two concerts on Fri., April 8, at 7 p.m. and 9:15 p.m., at Southwestern Community College’s Performing Arts Center in Creston.  The performances are open to the public.  Tickets are $25 each.

The Real Group will be guest artists at Southwestern’s Fox Fest, a two-day festival, April 8 and 9, hosted by the college’s professional music department.  Fox Fest, named after former Southwestern music instructor and Grammy-nominee Jeremy Fox, offers students’ opportunities to perform, attend jazz clinics, and participate in sessions and workshops focused on music performance.  Approximately 40 student groups from across the country are expected to attend Fox Fest 2016.

Formed in 1984, The Real Group has performed with symphony orchestras, jazz groups, pop bands, and international artists.  Much of the music they perform is original.  Their performance will alternate use of the English and Swedish languages.

Tickets for the concerts may be purchased through a printed ticket form at or by calling Southwestern’s business office at 641.782.1448.  Concert information is available on the college Web site as well,
