Bright Scholars with Meredith Dohmen

The SWCC Education Foundation’s annual Donor-Scholar Dinner was held on the evening of Monday, Nov. 13, 2017, in the Student Center gymnasium. The evening provided a wonderful expression of gratitude for foundation donors, as well as celebration for the academic successes of the college’s students.

The evening was kicked off by Education Foundation Executive Director Cait Maitlen. Following her opening remarks, Maitlen introduced Meredith Dohmen, director of scholarships for the Bright Foundation, an Iowa Foundation that has been a generous scholarship donor at SWCC for the past few years. Dohmen introduced the college’s current Bright Scholars (see photo above).

Student speakers for the evening included Trina Restauro, Associate Degree in Nursing student from Mount Ayr, and Haylea England, sophomore, Associate of Arts college transfer student from Mount Ayr.

The event was catered by The Windrow in Creston.
