Gary McVay (at left in photo), of Creston, and Gavin Monroe (at right in photo), of Afton, both students in SWCC’s information technology systems networking (ITSN) program, competed at the SkillsUSA competition at DMACC in Ankeny on Friday, April 28, 2017.

Both students competed in the information technology services category.  Monroe finished second in the competition and McVay placed third.

According to Rumy Kabir, ITSN instructor, this was the program’s first attempt at SkillsUSA competition. McVay is enrolled full-time in the program and Gavin Monroe is a post-secondary student from East Union High School.
