Ken Rech (pictured above, second from left) of Red Oak, president of the Southwestern Community College board of trustees, presided over his last regular board meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017, at 5:30 p.m. in the Administration Center, board room.
Rech is leaving the board after 37 years. He became a board member in October 1980. In October 1999, Rech was elected as vice president of the board. He served in this role until October 2008, when he became president of the board.
